Mentoring

IRD Duhallow’s Enterprise Development Working Group is launching an exciting new Mentoring and Enterprise Training and Support programme for new start up businesses, as well as businesses looking to expand and diversify.

Arising from extensive interaction with the business community and the Enterprise Working Group. IRD Duhallow has identified a need for in depth one to one support for emerging and existing businesses. The economic environment has raised many challenges for existing businesses whilst rising unemployment has led many individuals to establish new business ventures. A common thread throughout is the need for continued and meaningful business support.

The project aims to deliver an average of 10 hours mentoring time for up to 50 businesses throughout the project life of this programme.

At the first mentoring session, a Mentor Plan will be developed, which should identify clearly the aims and objectives of the mentoring programme for each client. The Mentor Plan should also identify what specialist advice, if any, is required by the client. The Mentor Panel will consist of business specialists across a range of business functions; one or more additional mentors may be assigned to assist a client, as appropriate to their needs.
