IRD Duhallow operates an After Schools Service for primary school children from 2-6pm Monday–Friday during the school term. Additional to this is the Out of Schools Service on offer from 8.30am-6pm on inservice days and during school holidays. This service is located in the James O’Keeffe Institute, Newmarket. IRD Duhallow provides a complete wrap around service as children are collected from school by the Duhallow Area Rural Transport Service and delivered safely to our facility. Children are provided with a warm home cooked nutricious meal daily. Homework study is supervised by staff with extra support provided where needed. Following completion of homework there are daily planned activities that include both indoor and outdoor sports, arts & crafts, baking, knitting, computers, science projects, story reading, etc.

Transport is available from both Newmarket National Schools & Lismire National School through the Duhallow Area Rural Transport Service. IRD Duhallow is currently seeking to establish a new route from national schools in Kanturk dependent on demand. Other extended routes from schools will also be considered if interest exists from parents.

If you are interested in registering your child in this facility please complete the application form and child record form attached. Children are not restricted to attending a set number of days, instead parents can send their children to the facility for the number of days and hours they so wish and the price is set accordingly.

IRD Duhallow operates a tiered pricing structure in an effort to facilitate all parents to avail of the service regardless of their financial circumstances.
For clarification on eligibility for a reduction and for overall prices please contact Helen O’Sullivan, After Schools Co-ordinator @ 029-60633.
