Code at Home!
These are some resources for projects that we are doing at IRD Duhallow Coderdojo but there are a huge range of resources available to help your kids to begin to code. A great place to start is the International Coderdojo website resources page.
For Spring 2019 we are learning Python and so far we have done two projects in which we have learned about User input, printing to the screen, Using Comments, Variables and If statements / decision points.
About us and Rock Paper Scissors
In the autumn term of 2018 we focused on Scratch. Scratch is a block-based visual programming language and online community targeted primarily at children. Users of the site can create online projects using a block-like interface. The Ninjas did a whole range of scratch projects, some for beginners and some which were more advanced.
These are some examples of printable projects:
Week one and two the kids are doing a prototype of the project using scratch.
Weeks three and four we plan to get them to build a working circuit.
In the winter and spring term 2017-2018 we followed the structure in these Beginner HTML “Sushi Cards”.
