50th Donoughmore Carnival
18th July 2019
Various Venues, Donoughmore
Donoughmore Carnival is an annual event full of activities for all of the family. This year we are celebrating our 50th Carnival. There are merries for the kids and teenagers and many sporting activities ranging from matches to novelty sports, skittles, wellie throwing and egg throwing to mention a few. Other events include a fancy dress competition, car treasure hunt, sheaf tossing and bingo.
We are lucky to a Séan Keane concert on Saturday night. On the Sunday afternoon we have a World Tug-of-War event and a huge Vintage Display. We will have farmer’s markets stalls and look forward to a visit from “The Irish Mammy” himself, Colm, O’Regan. We finish off our carnival in style on Sunday night with a Barbecue accompanied by music from Kieran and Jim. Of course don’t forget that you can get chips from Batty’s chipper to finish off every night !
This is a great sociable community event where we welcome back many former parishioners as well as many of those from neighbouring parishes to celebrate this annual event with us. All monies raised are used to keep the many facilities that we have in the parish running for the year. These include a Community Hall, a Sports Complex, a Pitch, an Astroturf an Amenity Walk and a Playground. Your support is greatly appreciated.
Further details will be available on Donoughmore’s Carnival Facebook page, Twitter and Instagram. Entry fee for the Carnival on Sunday will be €5 pp. and will take place in Donoughmore Community Grounds and will commence at 2p.m.
