Kanturk Cycling Club

Since Kanturk Cycling Club was founded in 1991, it has grown to be one of Ireland’s most active under-age clubs.

Over the years the club has seen many talented underage Irish and World Champions emerge. In 2012 the club built their very own velodrome costing a total of €250,000.

IRD Duhallow were delighted to provide Kanturk Cycling Club with €150,000 through LEADER funding. The outdoor arena was a unique feature for Kanturk Cycling Club as it was one of the first outdoor track arenas in the country to built outside of Dublin.

The 250 metre Olympic track is an excellent facility for training and for testing riders track times. The Club is now beginning to achieve success in the Senior ranks as some of the under-age riders are coming through to senior level. The Club won the All-Ireland U-23 Team Championships.
