English Conversation Walk
17th October 2026
10:00 pm
Location:
Island Wood
Newmarket
Places remaining: 10
Cost: FREE
We are looking for friendly local volunteers to join our Walk, Talk & Connect— a relaxed community walk in Island Wood, bringing together local English speakers and people for whom English is not their first language.
There is no teaching involved, and you do not need any special experience. Just come along, enjoy the walk and have a friendly conversation with someone who would like to practice their English.
It is a simple and enjoyable way to:
- 🤝 Meet new people from your local community
- 💬 Help someone build confidence speaking English
- 🌍 Learn about different cultures and experiences
- 🌿 Enjoy some fresh air and a walk in nature
- ❤️ Make a positive difference simply by having a chat
Who can volunteer?
Anyone who is friendly, open-minded and enjoys meeting new people. You do not need to be a teacher or have any previous volunteering experience.
All you need is a willingness to chat, listen and make someone feel welcome.
The project is co-funded by the Government of Ireland and the European Union.
