By the end of the programme, participants will have:
● A defined podcast idea with clear purpose and target audience
● An understanding of podcast structure and storytelling
● A production plan, including format, episode structure and workflow
● Practical experience in recording and editing audio
● The skills and confidence to begin producing their own podcast independently
 
About Connie Broderick
Connie Broderick is an experienced radio and podcast producer, trainer and co-founder of Keeshla Communications, with over two decades’ experience working across broadcast, community media and education. He is currently the manager of the Radio Kerry Training School, delivering both an eight-week introduction to broadcasting programme and the 53-week Journalism, Podcasting and Radio Broadcasting course. Alongside his teaching role, Connie has extensive experience delivering community-based training on behalf of West Limerick Resources and the O’Connell FET Centre in Caherciveen, including multiple LEADER-supported initiatives, oral history recording programmes, broadcasting upskilling projects and digital media training. His work has engaged a wide range of participants, including older adults, young people, Traveller communities and community volunteers. He has also worked as a Tutor/Trainer with Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board and has delivered training for organisations such as CRAOL, Coimisiún na Meán, Learning Waves, and the National Learning Network. Connie was a trainer and producer on Speak Up, a Coimisiún na Meán – funded media literacy project that supported Kerry community groups in developing their own voices and received a Bronze Award at the 2022 IMRO Awards. He has also produced the podcast series This Place – A Ukrainian Story in West Limerick as part of the Social Inclusion and Community Activation Programme (SICAP), documenting the lived experiences of 30 Ukrainian refugees who have settled in the area. His broadcast credits include work for RTÉ, Newstalk, Radio Kerry, Limerick’s Live 95FM and Spin South West. RTÉ projects include the production of a 10-part children’s podcast series Adventures in Time and editing credits on Stories for Nollaig, The Wren and The Cailleach Beara. Connie also produced the documentary Chaplin: The Waterville Picture, funded by Kerry County Council, which screened at the inaugural Charlie Chaplin Comedy Film Festival in 2011, was broadcast nationally on RTÉ in 2012. The film received an IFTA nomination for Best Editor in the Craft/Technical category for Television. Across his work in training and production, Connie combines professional broadcast standards with a strong commitment to educational, cultural and documentary storytelling, supporting communities to develop lasting skills and meaningful audio content.
