‘Discover Duhallow… A Day of the Regions’ is about capturing the essence of life in Duhallow and encouraging both locals and visitors alike to take part in the wide range of amenities, clubs and activities that are present throughout our region. Over the last number of years communities and groups throughout Duhallow have actively developed the concept of Discover Duhallow. Duhallow communities have put forward events in the past showcasing and sharing the very best of culture, sport, tradition and the unique sense of fun they have to offer. We are now calling on all communities again to put themselves forward and organize events that are a celebration of rural community life and will showcase what Duhallow has to offer those living here as well as those visiting the region.
Duhallow’s strongest asset is its people and IRD Duhallow will continue to support our people through the bottom up approach to rural development. We aim to work with all communities across Duhallow to participate in this co-operation project.

The Day of the Regions Trans-national Project has the potential to further develop on the theme already started in the previous LEADER Programme and help new communities as well as new-comers to existing communities participate in and take pride in their own community and learn more about neighbouring communities. This will lead to increased economic activity and make these communities more attractive for people to come or come back to.
