Course Content
This one-day, in-person course is designed to guide secondary school students through the key stages of preparing for an apprenticeship. It includes the following five core modules:
- Researching Apprenticeships
- Finding an Employer
- Making an application
- Psychometric Tests
- Interviews
The programme is suitable for up to 40 participants and is delivered by our highly experienced tutor.
Additional Resources:
Take home workbook
Students will receive a comprehensive paper-based workbook on the day which will serve as a guide and reference point during the session. They can also use this standalone workbook after the session to reinforce their learning. The workbook contains exercises that help them to incrementally progress towards writing an effective application form, CV, and cover letter and guides them on how to prepare for an apprenticeship style interview using a step-by-step process.
E-Learning Access
Access to our Career Services e-learning platform for 12 months after the course. Here students can view instructional video lessons that will coach them to perform well in psychometric tests. These tests are used by many large organisations to recruit hundreds of apprentices each year. After the lessons, students can practice timed and untimed tests to get used to the difficulty levels. There is also an in-depth competency-based interview module to help them to prepare for any interview they might have.
