Several important initiatives were developed by the Equality Working Group to promote equality and inclusion
IRD Duhallow works to promote Equality, Diversity and Inclusion throughout the Duhallow region.
Within its Equality and MAP Ireland Programmes, IRD Duhallow supports individuals and families from diverse backgrounds, helping to strengthen community connections and creating a welcoming environment for all.
Through training sessions, community events, integration initiatives, school projects, employment and guidance support, IRD Duhallow encourages intercultural understanding, reduces social exclusion and supports active participation in community life. These programmes help build stronger, more inclusive communities where diversity is valued and everyone could have the opportunity to belong and succeed.
About MAP Ireland
Within the context of “Migrant Apprenticeship Pathways” Programme, IRD Duhallow in coordination and partnership with Ballyhoura Development, works to support migrants living in Ireland to access apprenticeship and vocational training opportunities.
The project is co-funded by the Government of Ireland and the European Union.

- One to one Mentoring.
- Language and communication support.

- CV preparation and interview support.
- Workplace training.
- Sector Specific training and career awareness
- Support for Employers:
Ensure a connection with employers to:
- Support inclusive recruitment and information of the apprenticeships process .
- Promote retention and progression of migrant employees.
- Strengthen inclusion in the rural labour market.
